Cyber Security

Cyber security are tools and technologies that help protect computers, computer programs and networks from unauthorized access and modification. It is very important in the modern world. Nowadays, the majority of the people have their personal information stored in the internet, including their credit card number, address and phone number.  If a website, like say Amazon or EBay, was hacked, hundreds of thousands of its users' personal information could be exposed to the hackers.
Cyber security is extremely important in businesses. If a company's network was hacked,  it could losing tens of thousands of dollars because of its data loss.

A country's safety  also involves cyber security. It prevents the attacker from attacking the country's important  information in regard to its national security.

When cyber security was first introduced in the 90s, it wasn't being focused upon by people as it is now. Twenty years ago, the cyber attacks were mostly done by amateur hackers, but now the most of the hackers are a part of an organization and  are professional. The demand for cyber security is much higher now.

It is very important to utilize cyber security as it will protect you from cyber crimes. There are many antivirus and antimalware software available for free on the internet.

Open Source Software

Retrieved from http://blog.hathix.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/open-source-software.png

Open source software allows the users to be able to see and modify its design. The creator or creators of an open source software make its source code available to the public. This is one of the major differences between an open source software and a private commercial software. It is one of the reasons why open source software are so appealing to most people. Users can change the source code of an open source software at any times. It lets them feel that they are a part of a community that can help improve the software. One of the advantages of an open source software is that it generally receives updates and fixes faster than a proprietary  software because its users can modify its source code. If a user edited the source code of an open source software, they must also allow other user to be able to edit their code.

LibreOffice is a open source software. It is similar to Microsoft Office. It has features such as a word processor, a spreadsheet program, a PowerPoint program and more. LibreOffice is being constantly updated.

I find open source software to be appealing. They allow people to contribute to them. Open source software let the users communicating with one another when contributing to the software.
